Hello  guys,

could you help me please with Atari 800 load "game"?

I'm hunting geocaches and I found one mystery cache in Prague (http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC43 … o-ataristy)  (treasure of atarist).

There is load game sound in wav format and it should show the GPS coordintates for this geocache.

Wav file: http://www.archaebacteria.net/atari/atari.wav

There is also some note (http://www.archaebacteria.net/atari/poznamky.jpg):
ATARI 800
- 3 FRAMES
- IR 6 35 A 9255 (or A G25s …not sure)
- stretched tape

Could you help me please how to decode this wav file???

Thank you very much,
Pavel

1st: please do not post twice.
2nd: you need Atari XL/XE emulator. There are few, you could try Altira: http://www.virtualdub.org/altirra.html
3rd: load wav into the emulator and run it

Atari: FireBee, (Falcon030 CT60e SuperVidel SvEthlana CTPCI), TT, (520ST Pak030 Frak PuPla Panther), (520ST 4MB ST RAM 8MB TT RAM CosmosEx SC1435), (1040STFM UltraSatan SM124), (1040STE 4MB ST RAM 8MB TT RAM CosmosEx NetUSBee SM144 SC1224), 260ST, 520 ST+, (MEGA ST SM125), (65XE Rapidus U1MB VBXE SIDE2 SIO2PC), (Jaguar SkunkBoard), Lynx II, 2x Portfolio

Hi Adam,
thanks for your answer.

I tried severla emulators, but Altira is the first which can load wave.

Unforunately I got error message:
"Cannot read 1004 bytes at location 0062f3fe from atari.wav"

I think it is related to the note: "stretched tape"

Do know you how to solve this problem?

Thank you,
Pavel

Ask on AtariAge in Altirra topic.

It really appear to be atari standard tape records in the wave file, but they are interleaved with blocks of random noise that prevent them from being correctly loaded.
