I had Turbo Pascal (only programming language I know, I had it on highschool and on basic school too). I was good in it. Made very simple maze game, 2d demo, few intros too as kid. And I want start again in Pascal. Also want do simple stuff like musicdisk or demomag or picture slideshow etc.
Here I will document my MAD Pascal steps. Also will ask if I will need help. Maybe it will be useful for others. Using Turbo Basic or ASM, Action.

65c816 - Data width 8 (external) 16 (internal) Address width 24.
To jest processor spectacular :).
That Apple2GS / Snes demos was just little inspiration. What we can have with VBXE/SimpleStereo4/I like 65c816 Rapidus as I own Apple2 GS and PC-Engine(6502 but 16bit gpu best "8bit" console). BTW the current version from WDC, the W65C02S-14 has a fully static core and officially runs at speeds up to 14 MHz (so possible to keep 8bit but like Witcher by 7bit turbocard on Amiga using overclocked 68000 to 50mhz). So maybe low cost cheaper 8bit "Mini Rapidus" or on cartridge is possible too to stay 8bit same but more powerful. On other hand I think there is space for 64kb, Atari XE/XL, stereo demos too with using fast sd-card loading lot of parts or cartridge and with nice design, style. On Forever party I was watching lot of 64kb C64 demos (only very few guys had like 128kb C128 or C64 512kb expansions so almost all demos used standard c64) but demos was OK some very nice. Not so good as on Atari I mean no 3Ds and more complex effects. But nice pixelart, design, rotator etc. So there is also space for 64kb Ataris too or 256kb. But as for future I want see also demos, games using upgrades too. As on Falcon with turbocard.

@pancio - Yes Ensoniq 5503 is good soundchip. Something as simple Gravis or SoundBoard on SimpleStereo4.

@Sikor - Nice. Will be there. Hope world will be OK until that party.

6502tube like PiStorm68k on Amiga.

274mhz 6502 coprocessor 65c102 using RPi:
https://github.com/hoglet67/PiTubeDirect/wiki
Like PiStorm. Maybe for us better as cartridge adapter (pi zero or computer module on it). As we have Ultimate1mb, VBXE inside.

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/wiki/hoglet67/PiTubeDirect/images/intro4.jpg

This will not show coders skills - get maximum from 6502/1,79mhz. But on other hand open new possibilities for example fast "Numen" like Doom games or more complex 3Ds in demos (like on bigger platforms). Or lot of small 3D objects swarm like objects on PC demos. Or more complex 3d tunnels. Lot of possibilities. It is still 6502 8bit or 16bit 65c816 in future but superfast.

Another idea is to use cartridge as medium for demos.
I own Sega Megadrive its like Atari ST but with 64kb ram, better videoprocessor(like vdp on MSX2 but much faster and better blitter and better modes but less palette), and opl+pcm soundchip something like soundblaster16.

Idea on Sega Megadrive is to have 64kb ram but huge cartridge like 64mb max. So they load screens or levels very fast. So its looks amazing. On SNES there was fx chip simple dsp+extra 6502. Maybe this is way too. Some flash rom+fpu.
Flash will superfast load scene and fpu make 3d math.
SNES extra processors in cartridge (it is 65c816 console) -

I have 10x opl3 + dac - 18channel FM stereo at home. But YM2203 is compatible with that classic YM2149 which is inside every ST and thats nice feature also more simple coding, or tracker modules. Also sounds very close to OPL2/3 from Soundblaster. To get full potential of OPL3 multiple operators and effects you need 400mhz pentium + 128mb - my friend coded AdlibTracker2. Very cool tracker. More simple songs can be replayed on 6502/65c816/68000 but multilayer operators plus effects not.

Opl3 how it sounds:
https://youtu.be/qwtqbwDjoqM
https://youtu.be/DEhbdVYSVMQ

Lotharek is doing Melody FM for A800 XE/XL with opl3. But instruments will be more simple. 2operators etc. Probably on 68040/68060 will be same as on pentium.

But 2x ym2203 sounds close and eats less cpu.

Yes first will try test that from Exxos forum how it works than my idea is to upgrade it to:

2x ym2203 + ym2149
= 2x 3fm 3psg (STEREO) + ym2149 (stereo as on spectrum A- LEFT B- BOTH center C- RIGHT)

-> that B can be even center both can be subwoofer out too (low bass freq for example) so it can be 2.1 soundcard / pure stereo / only ym2149 mono on both left right cinch(3 position switch like on Atari 800 StereoPokey got stereo/mono switch).

It can be done via mux mixer (like 1euro chip).

9psg YM classic an plus 6fm channels will sounds amazing. You can do tricks like reverb or echo like guys from Grayscale did on Pokey...

Yes but for small Atari XE/XL 8bit. This is for ST, MegaST etc. But will ask them maybe they will support this idea.

There is nice FM chip which got YM2149 inside.
(3channels FM OPL and 3channels PSG YM).
It was used in Turbosound FM on ZX Spectrum (2x YM2203).

Maybe we can have same standard as little Atari got StereoPokey upgrade (8channels stereo) on 8bit XE/XL Atari but on ST, MegaST,STE... So we will have 2x YM2203 and 1x original YM2149 from motherboard as soundcard.
There is TurboSound soundcard on ZX Spectrum. And on PC is crossplatform TFM Music Maker Tracker (lot of tunes exist and I have 14 000 instruments :) TFI). So we will have small board as StereoPokey and TFM player on ST as SAP or RMT player is on XE/XL for demos, games. One guy from from Exxos forum made 1x YM2203. So for test it and as start it will be good. Latter we can do V2 version as TFM music maker Tracker use 2x YM2203.
I will write author of tracker Shiru (know Him from Sega Megadrive homebrew) for player sources and TFM module and instrument description.

The YM2203, a.k.a. OPN (FM Operator Type-N), is a six channel (3 FM and 3 SSG) sound chip developed by Yamaha.

The YM2203 has the following features:

- Three concurrent FM channels (voices)
- Four operators per channel
- Two interval timers
- Internal implementation of Yamaha's YM2149F SSG chip

I think we have lot of RAM 1mb or 4mb, Gotek, Ultrasatan, also few of us VOFA ISA STVGA too but no soundcard only Dreamblaster exist. Dreamblaster is perfect but not for Demoscene or new games ideal for Cubase or Adventure games ports from PCs. So we need something with more retro sound (simple like YM, Pokey or SID) and much cheaper (40Euro-50euro solution). Why not FPGA? As it is chip shortage also its not 100% emulation - simulation. FM will give new arcade feeling to games. Original ATARI used FM+YM combo in their arcade systems. Also its huge difference between 3 channels and 9 YM PSG or 6+3PSG. FM will be usable in Demos too(on PC they use softsynths FM sounds little bit similar to it or AceTracker use DSP on Falcon). I own 800XE and its huge difference between 4channel tunes and 8channels. 8 channels stereo are much more amazing!

We have all upgrades now time for classic soundchips SoundCard too. Lets call it TriYM (threeYM). And YM2203 is ideal as it have standard YM inside plus FM feature...

It sounds really good like Konami Arcade Games or Atari Arcade System or Sega Megadrive / Soundblaster 16 Opl.

Also price is OK 10euro / piece not as Dreamblaster (which sounds beautiful) but cost much more and is Cubase/Notator solution. So complete upgrade will be like 40euro - 50euro.
YM2203+PSG is pure demoscene, homebrew like StereoPokey on 8bit.

I think ST should have good soundcard upgrade after years. And with original YM2203 as it is FPGA shortage. They are common part for Arcades.

What You think about this FM soundcard idea?

You need MUX - multiplexer small PCB. Mux put lot of audio signals into few. Search Tindie or Ebay. They are very cheap. Something like this:
https://www.tindie.com/products/Chichom … ltiplexer/

I dont have Covox / SimpleStereo combo only old RasterStereo He gave me PCB but maybe there is seting in Ultimate1M too for Covox. Can someone who owns covox check it?

Kupim original 68060 (mmu fpu verzia) do mojeho Falcona 030 s ct63.
But I have only 200-250euro max. including shipping to Slovakia.
Nemusi byt REV6 moze aj ine - 50mhz no need overclocking (will only watch demos and compose in AceTracker2).
Also when I will sell it I can sell it back to You for 200-250euro for example in future(but will stays in my Falcon) but will never sell it to other person.

System like ZX-Uno or MiSTer from Chile but with own core similar to C128 (6502+Z80 in same system) but interesting is that they use 2x Pokey :) and similar videochip like Antic, Gtia but more colors and 320x240 x 16...

Specs and demo videos - BLOG:

As I remember in Chile was Atari 8bit scene so probably inspiration.

Hello.
Long time ago me and Yogi wanted to do Yamaha OPL3 cartridge from tOri scheme. We never did PCBs. And I have 10x OPL3 + Yamaha DACs at home. Also there will be Lotharek Melody FM cart which I highly recommend to buy as it will be tested. Anyways just for Atari scene backup here are files and Yogi reply to me (last one probably He passed or something happend so He is offline).
"Hi Mat, here is the 2.2 brd file for the cart, let me know if you need the Gerber/Drill files. It's T0ri's board with solder mask stops for the cart edge fingers and some silk screen labels.
Here is message:
Be aware: T0ri designed the board to be etched at home, so he didn't include solder mask or silk screen info. And his schematic is out of sync with the board, meaning that he has added components to the board which are not on the schema.

He also didn't use 'proper' device footprints for a couple devices; L1 and D1. He 'painted' the SMD pads where the parts should go. This isn't too much of a problem unless you plan on using a pick and place machine for assembly.

I've tried to match the board device footprints with the schematic components and label them on the silk screen but there are a couple extra parts on the board. They appear to be extra 0.1uF filter caps on the Vcc.

I also changed the Stereo socket to a different part that matches a Mouser part. Because of the limits of Eagle Lite, had to 'build' the footprint on the board and didn't use a 'proper' part from the library. Again this could be a problem with automated assembly.

I assume from T0ri's page that he has tested the design so the board should be good to go. The biggest issues would be if you plan to have the boards assembled by a third party. They would need placement coordinates for a few parts.

Yogi"
Here are files:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/om1wy6wjmknx … a1fua?dl=0
Hope Dropbox link will work tell me if not will upload them on my own domain cloud. Also remove *txt to have just gerber files for CAD.

I know author of AdlibTracker2 He is from same country as I also have OPL on my MSX2. FM songs sounds fantastic like on arcade maschine and they are small files sounds like from 90s/80s synthesizer keyboard. Something like ACEtracker on Falcon DSP. Very small files so good for demos, games. I hope one day will buy Melody FM from Lotharek or if anyone will make PCBs and assembly them will send my 10x opl3 and yamaha DACs for free also free original 10 cartridge shells for 2x working FM soundcards...

Got EmuTos on Amiga 500 with TF520 / 68030 fpu 2mb ram. But need similar for ST. I mean EmuTOS is bigger than 512k or so. There is EmuTOS on Tindie as ROM. But want more modern solution FlashEEPROM or something like that so I will be able upload latest EmuTOS on it. Like on Amiga simply I flash from floppy that ROM.
